Iris is a collection of miniature vases that beautifully embody the full-color spectrum of the rainbow. This captivating collection draws inspiration from the remarkable creations featured in Erika Lagerbielke's exclusive exhibition, 'Blue Planet,' showcased at Galleri Glas in Stockholm and the prestigious Kosta Boda Art Gallery in Sweden during 2022. The name "Iris" pays homage to the Greek mythological goddess of the rainbow, perfectly reflecting the radiant allure of these vases.
Handblown in Kosta, Sweden, the drop-shaped vases use a multi-colored underlay and optical pattern. A technique that secures variation in the thickness of the glass during the hot shop process. The result adds life and playful vividness to the glass. The vases are reminiscent of small jewelry pieces in carefully selected color pairings.
